Post independence era witnessed the accelerated process of industrialization and hence demand for technically trained manpower increased manifold. The trustees, driven by a passion to uplift the underprivileged and downtrodden youths by imparting job oriented competencies and skills. The technical institute started functioning from 1988 onwards. Three ITI and two TEB pattern courses recognized by the Central and State government along with private vocational courses were started.

The inspiration for the identity stemmed from the elegant building of the institute, which admeasures around 1,00,000 sq feet with hollow symmetrical red bricks, low-rise vault capped structures and open-air large corridors and courtyards. The serenity and sanctity created by the unique layout provide the just right kind of environment for learning.
